Viola Davis embraced her moment on the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2025 in Los Angeles on Sunday. The venerated actress is the recipient of the 2025 Cecil B. DeMille Award at this year’s ceremony, honoring her contributions to the entertainment industry.
Davis gravitated toward a style she’d worn for another recent high-profile occasion. The EGOT award-winner wore a dramatic shimmering black gown with a cape that featured subtle rainbow accents throughout.

Davis’s black dress featured a plunging neckline and slimming silhouette. The gown included a cinched waist for a defined element. The cape of the actress’ gown flowed behind her. At times, she even showed off the dramatic element.
The “Fences” Oscar-winning actress previously styled a similarly theatrical look for The Golden Gala: An Evening of Excellence on Friday. The actress wore a custom Dior pink gown with Chopard jewelry. The dress featured flowing long sleeves, which created an illusion, cape-like effect. She was styled by Elizabeth Stewart.
